Overview — Shrimpton Agency partnered with luxury wig atelier Provenir to design and develop an elevated Shopify experience that reflected the craftsmanship, intimacy, and transformational nature of the brand. Founded by artisan wig maker Merria Dearman, Provenir creates hyperrealistic bespoke wigs and toppers with a deeply personal approach to beauty, confidence, and identity.

Founded by artisan wig maker Merria Dearman, Provenir creates hyperrealistic bespoke wigs and toppers with a deeply personal approach to beauty, confidence, and identity.

More than an eCommerce build, the project required translating an incredibly tactile, emotional product category into a premium digital experience — one capable of communicating realism, craftsmanship, and aspiration through design, motion, and storytelling.

Alongside the digital experience, Sarah Cobb-Shrimpton of Shrimpton Studio led a bespoke photo and video production to create the visual language for Provenir’s wig collection. The imagery seen across the website was art directed and produced specifically for the brand, ensuring the products could be experienced digitally with the same care and sophistication found in the atelier itself.

Brief — The challenge was to reposition wigs away from the traditional beauty category and into the world of luxury craftsmanship.

For many customers, purchasing a wig is deeply personal — often tied to confidence, identity, or medical hair loss — requiring a level of trust and sensitivity rarely found in conventional eCommerce. The site needed to feel editorial and aspirational while remaining approachable, educational, and conversion focused.

Provenir also required original content that could authentically showcase movement, texture, fit, and realism. Existing industry photography often felt overly commercial or lacked the refinement expected of a luxury product at this price point.

The brief was clear: create a luxury digital flagship that could establish Provenir as the leading premium wig atelier online.

Solution — Shrimpton Agency designed and developed a custom Shopify experience rooted in editorial storytelling, premium product presentation, and intuitive commerce.

The site architecture was designed to balance education with aspiration — helping users understand product categories, craftsmanship, and services, while maintaining a highly visual and emotionally resonant experience. Large-format imagery, refined typography, generous spacing, and subtle motion were used to create a calm, luxury-first browsing experience reflective of the brand’s atelier positioning.

A critical part of the project was content creation.

Through Shrimpton Studio, Sarah Cobb-Shrimpton conceived and produced a dedicated photo and video shoot for Provenir’s wig products, creating the imagery now featured throughout the website. The production focused on realism, movement, texture, and wearability — allowing prospective customers to better understand how each piece behaves in natural light and on real people.

Rather than relying on standard beauty product photography, the visual direction borrowed cues from luxury fashion editorials, positioning Provenir closer to premium fashion and beauty brands than traditional hair systems. The result was a cohesive visual world where brand, product, and commerce worked seamlessly together.

The final experience delivers an emotionally intelligent luxury shopping journey — one that communicates trust, craftsmanship, and transformation while supporting conversion through thoughtful UX and premium storytelling.
